You’ll be glad you did!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Staff at Terra Cotta Conservation Area wanted to bring the same excitement of Maple Syrup season to the fall when the air is crisp and the colours are glorious. Fall is a great time to be outdoors and all you need are good shoes, a warm sweater and you're ready to be as Canadian as any Canadian can possibly be. Celebrating the fall season means being inspired by nature, through food, drink, music, and activities. This concept is the theme for our event and you’ll experience it too with great eats from local food to enjoy, local musical talent and delicious brews, not to mention the quintessentially Canadian outdoor experience of a hike or wagon ride through a fall-painted forest.
What do you love most about your job?
All the staff at Terra Cotta Conservation Area could be described as the “outdoorsy types” but what we all love most about our jobs is sharing the experience with others. It might sound a bit corny but it's true. This is a special place for so many more reasons than are obvious to the casual onlooker, but if you’re curious just stop and ask and anyone here will be glad to “show and tell” for you all about the little gems that are all around us here at Terra Cotta.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
Last year, a visitor and their children came up to me to thank me and my team for putting on a great event and let me know they all had a wonderful time. When their kids rushed over to give me a hug, I couldn’t help but feel proud that my team and I were accomplishing our goal of providing opportunities for visitors to make memories and become inspired by nature.
