Badminton isn't just a backyard sport. At Edison Badminton Centre, it's a lifestyle. Featuring 34-foot ceilings for maximum clearance and the same springy surfacing as in the Olympics, the courts play host to matches and lessons that range from casual to fiercely competitive. Led by Lionel Chong, a former Canadian national champion in men's doubles, the staff comprises professionals dedicated to the sport of badminton—including club founder Billy Gilliland, a lifelong player and coach with decades of experience. Lessons include everything from high-level structured practices using feather shuttles to youth, recreational, and ladies-only lessons in a fun, enjoyable format that uses nylon shuttles instead.
