Kalinka, or Kalyna, is a Ukrainian story in Calgary, AB. The company's origins start in the early 2000s, when people from the post-Soviet area opened a video rental, which later turned into a full-fledged grocery store. Nowadays, the store offers a wide range of goods from Eastern Europe, mainly from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, the Baltic States, Moldova, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, but also from Georgia, Israel, and other countries. In 2015, the facility opened its own cuisine and bistros, which prepare and serve traditional Ukrainian dishes: fragrant borscht, pierogi with different fillings, cabbage rolls with meat, traditional salads, as well as magnificent cakes, and cookies.
