About Globe Cinema

In the 1600s, the Globe Theatre brought the best storytelling of its time to the people of London. Today, the Globe Cinema does the same for Calgary. This independently owned arthouse theater has been serving the city since 1995, and it specializes in movies that push the envelope artistically, narratively, and philosophically. Previous runs have included documentaries on H.R. Giger, the 2015 Indian epic Baahubali, and Andy Warhol's Blood for Dracula. Of course, they're also not above hosting an '80s blockbuster night now and then, either. Whether checking out a forgotten classic, a foreign masterpiece, or dropping in as a part of one of Calgary's many film festivals, audiences at the Globe are always sure to expand their horizons.
