Q&A with Melissa Miller, Owner, Teacher, Student
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We run 30-day challenges that encourage people to do yoga every day for 30 days. At the end, we have a big party to celebrate. The 30-day challenge not only kicks you into shape quickly, it also makes you realize that you do have time for yoga every single day, and that's a valuable lesson. You also meet the other challengers and discover a community of like-minded people.
What's the most radical physical transformation you've seen a client make?
Yoga is not only physical, it's mental. Sure, we've seen clients whose bodies have changed completely with a regular Moksha Yoga practice, but it's more impressive to us when we see a change in the whole person. For example, sometimes when people first start coming they are stressed, nervous and rushed. It's amazing to watch those people slow down and loosen up, to see them start enjoying life again.
Besides working out, what else can clients do to spend their time at your facility?
We often host community events, where likeminded yogis get a chance to mingle! We also have a yoga boutique section at our Studio, inclusive of mats, towels, clothing, water bottles, jewelry, and more!.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
One thing we've heard over and over is how comfortable and welcome people feel at Moksha Yoga Bedford. It's a place for everyone—no matter your age, your fitness level, or your level of yoga experience. The mixed-level classes ensure that even the first-time yogi feels encouraged, while the experienced practitioner will still find a challenge. All are welcome.
