The Prison Break Race is a 5K run along an obstacle-dotted course, but it's most noteworthy feature is definitely its starting line. It's situated in a mock prison, surrounded by real barbed wire and manned by guards who, though unarmed, still torment runners by trying to snatch their flags. Each runner starts with three flags, and those who lose all of them are punished with a wade through the finish line's mud pit. Despite its jail setting and its code of punishments, though, the race ends in a party, with plates of hearty barbecue and festive music.
