What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?

Sunshine Generation is a children's singing, dancing and performance group.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?\

Sunshine Generation is different from the traditional type dance class is so many ways. First off, the classes are not about who is the best dancer, or the best singer, the classes are about having fun! The Sunshine Generation is non-competitive but performance based, so the children get the thrill of being on a stage while not having to worry about who gets the gold. In that, children get to learn and thrive while singing, dancing, and building positive self-esteem at a point in their lives when positive experiences are crucial for development. Sunshine Generation is a North American wide organization and is proven to be a great way to engage your children in the community.

What do you love most about your job?

I personally have a long history of dancing, both competitively and non-competitively. I have also taught both competitive and non-competitive dance. I have seen first hand the growth that happens in children when they learn new skills and explore their environment in new ways. I want to pass this on to the children in the Fort Saskatchewan community so that they can experience the love of performing that I have and hopefully develop a love of performing themselves.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

I think the best part of my job is seeing the parents reaction to changes in their children. Parents have told me that their children were quite shy and timid prior to joining the Sunshine Generation family, and afterwords they are seeing increased confidence in their children in their interactions, their school performance, and their ability to make friends. Knowing that the skills I am teaching children translate to other areas of their lives keeps me coming back, keeps me teaching, and keeps me smiling!
