Q&A with Minna Koistinen, Owner
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
My personal work has always been a passion for me, ever since I first stepped into a glass studio at the University of Art and Design Helsinki in the early '90s. I saw the possibilities of hot glass being taught as art and entertainment rather than schooling.
What aspect of your job, or the services you offer, most often surprises people?
It is difficult and challenging in the most heart-pumping way. It's like working with lava, and you get an unusual feeling of success in working with something that appeals to the most primal of senses. Most people are surprised about how much fun it is.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
All workshops are for beginners and taught by professionals as a fun outing. Beginners should start with solid objects, since blowing is a step up.
