About The Second City

Founded in Chicago by Del Close in 1959, Second City now includes outposts in Toronto and Los Angeles, where the next generation of comedians learns the ins and outs of quick-thinking improvisation and sketch generation in immersive classes. The Second City Training Centre focuses on improvisation and sketch comedy, with classes available for students of all skill levels, from complete beginners looking to try something new, to seasoned improvisers seeking to bring their skills to the next level. In addition to building students' confidence and helping with speaking skills, classes also prep performers for life in the theatre's house and touring ensembles, which tease out laughter from audiences seven nights a week.
