About this Business
Aubrey Trotter, I started my path in the visual arts 15 years ago with the purchase of my first video camcorder. I always had a love of composition, framing and camera movements so when I got it I went right to work making home movies. It wasn’t long before I started shooting friends weddings and other small events. This went on for a couple years but I soon became restless and wanted to expand my skills and branch out.
In 2006 I had the opportunity to attend BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) and the Broadcast Communication Degree Program. I am about to start a journey which for which I cannot see the end and my only guide is my love of cameras and film. This is where I honed my skills as a shooter and editor although it was all video production. It was within one of the courses that we were asked to photograph some architecture representing “lines of force” and “rules of thirds”. This is what changed everything for me. Although I had a love for video production I quickly found a new outlet for my creativity to run wild….and it was photography.
