About Ottawa Senators
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, this professional team of the National Hockey League plays at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, a 20-minute drive from downtown. The modern-day Senators, the second team to play under this name, started in NHL in 1992. The original team, whose official name was Ottawa Hockey Club, the Senators in the late 1910s, dominated Canadian hockey in the early 20th century, winning 11 times the Stanley Cup.
