Few experiences are as exhilarating as flying. To get your fill of thrills and discover Montréal from a new angle, instructors at Laurentide Aviation train future pilots and take aviation enthusiasts on a tour in the sky.

The deal

• $199 for a pilot-for-a-day package ($270 value)

During the first 15 minutes of the flight lesson , a certified instructor teaches participants the basics of operating an aircraft as well as the safety procedures.

Then, the crew enters the Cessna 172 plane. The 45-minute flight offers a unique view on Montréal’s business district, Mont-Royal or the surroundings natural scenery. This flight introduction allows familiarizing with maneuvers to execute turns, control altitude, initiate landing, etc.

Back on the ground, clients end their experience with a 15-minute post-flight lesson to complete their new skills.

After his military career with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Jack Scholefield founded Laurentide Aviation to combine his passion with his expertise. Since 1946, the family business delivers complete training to professional and recreational pilots at Les Cedres Aerodrome, near West Island area. Their fleet of Cessna includes single-engine and Grummans multi-engine aircraft.
